An Over Band Magnetic Separator is a critical component in material handling systems, designed to remove ferrous contaminants from bulk materials on conveyor belts. The separator consists of a powerful magnetic drum suspended over a moving conveyor. As materials pass beneath, ferrous particles are attracted to the magnet, held against it, and discharged separately at the end of the magnetic field. Non-magnetic materials continue along the conveyor uninterrupted. Self-cleaning designs are available for continuous operation without manual cleaning.
